The Wedding of Mike Jubb and Monica Abrosimoff

1st October 2003

What happened .........

24th February 2003 - Fernie Ski resort, Canada. At the bottom of a glorious off-piste run in Lizard bowl, on our snowboards, -20 degrees C, sun shining. Mike, ignoring the altitude and the cold, with lips burning, asks Monica to marry him.

Foolishly, Monica says "yes" and the rest of the day was spent snowboarding and discussing how we wanted to spend the day. We knew that we would love to have all of our families and friends together (and we knew that you would have loved to have been there too) but we decided to go with a relaxed, personal and private day with celebrations to follow sometime afterwards (who knows when??)

So, busy in France for the summer we decided on Scotland as our wedding venue and booked up the fantastic Tulloch Castle for our happy day - and it was a very happy day....

We flew to Inverness on Saturday 27th Sep, stayed on a boat on the canal and set off the next day on a bike ride around Loch Ness. Sunday the 28th we stayed in Fort Augustus and then biked up to Drumnadrochit the next day on the Great Glen Way which was absolutely amazing. Back to Inverness to drop the bikes back and then on to the Castle in Dingwall for the final preparations.

1st October 2003. We got married in Tulloch Castle, Dingwall, Scotland at 3pm.

We called our parents just before the ceremony and they were as happy as we were (although Monica couldn't stop crying!)

We were married in The Small Dungeon of the Castle by Alison Matheson, the Senior Registrar of Dingwall with Ken Macauley (castle owner) and Chris McLeod (Manager) as witnesses.

We wrote our own vows and said them to one another. We exchanged rings (simple matt finish white gold wedding bands). Monica looked gorgeous throughout the day.

At 3.30ish we went out into the glorious day and Chris (witness) took some pictures.

At 4.30 we cracked open the champagne and set about drinking it while calling our families to tell them the good news.... and another bottle please .....

At 8pm we danced in private by the fire in the castle before having a fabulous meal in the castle restaurant. We drunk beer and wine and whisky.

Thank you to those of you who had special celebrations for us. We are so looking forward to seeing both families this month.

Now we're off to Egypt for a kitesurfing honeymoon, back in the UK on Saturday October 11.
