Mike enjoying the Sainte Foy powder

Fresh powder - it doesn't get much better than that! It's complete bliss.

Each season there are more people who go in search of these off-piste skiing. This growing craze is being fuelled by busy resorts and long lift queues as well as the desire to get away from it all. Skis are becoming wider, making powder skiing easier for more people. The snowboard seems as though it was made for the backcountry as even intermediate riders can float easily on powder.

As off-piste skiing and ski touring increase in popularity, perfect powder becomes harder to find. Even in the mega-resorts, it is only a matter of a few hours before every visible face is tracked out.

Welcome to Sainte Foy. Welcome to the best kept secret in France. New for 06-07! Join us this season for our 'Introduction to Off-Piste Skiing and Snowboarding Clinic'

Sainte Foy is a purist's hang out. It is the place where ski instructors from the neighbouring resorts of Val D' Isere and Tignes come to ski on their days off.

Sainte Foy has 3 high-speed chairs that open up a mountainside miles wide with over 1000m of vertical. New for 06-07!! - A fourth chair lift is being built for the 2006/7 season. This new lift will access great new off-piste possibilities, previously only accessible by walking or skinning.

The lifts in Sainte Foy are the stepping stone to famed backcountry powder including attainable summits of 3000-3800m and the infamous North slopes of Fogliettaz, the itinerary to village of Le Monal and the Couloir Dudu.

This area was once famous for heliskiing before heli-skiing was banned in France. But the unspoiled terrain remains the same.

Snowology is run by Mike Jubb and Monica Abrosimoff - enthusiastic skiers and snowboarders. We run 2 beautiful chalets based at the Sainte Foy ski station each of which caters for 8-12 guests per week.

In addition to our Off-piste Clinics we can also organise off-piste ski guiding, ski touring and heli-skiing trips in and around the Sainte Foy area. We cater to all levels and can be quite flexible to help plan your perfect trip. Whether you have questions about your first experience on powder, need logistical help planning transfers, equipment and guides or just want a comfortable bed and a hearty cooked meal at the end of the day- Give us a call!
